The most important skill we look for in new, potential team members is customer service. We commit a lot of resources around customer service scenarios as well as how they interact with the other team members. At AKM we have a motto, “Hire for Attitude and Train for Skill”. We believe and have proven time and time again that you cannot teach someone to be passionate, enthusiastic or dedicated to changing lives, so you have to hire for these qualities.

Recruiting Expertise

AKM at one point hired over 600 employees in a 6 month period while we were in the throes of opening 120 locations. We have detailed processes and procedures in recruiting that have proven to be the best in the industry. These have been developed and honed for over 15 years.





Experienced Field Team

The Field Operations team includes over 1100 team members, 326 Cart Leaders, 8 Divisional Directors, 2 Vice President’s and a Senior VP. The Field Operations Team's biggest job is to ensure that we hire and train the best Team Members.




Training

We have detailed training procedures for every position. These policies and procedures are not only in writing but, they are also in video format on our company’s internal intranet site. They can access all procedures and policies at any time and well as all company videos. We track and monitor all team members’ progress and at any time can see where they are in the training module. Every new employee has a tenured, mentor manager or team member that is assigned to them. This partnership helps to insure the new team member is properly acclimated to the AKM culture.

AKM University

We encourage our team members to continue to study and learn and we spend a great deal of time on Customer Service training. We have detailed Guest Presentation and a training university (AKM U) to continue to build on our team members skills. Our Online University allows for flexibility in the type of training we can offer and find several different ways to engage our employees in the learning process.
